- Submitted manuscripts are reviewed in accordance with the recommendations of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education included in Good Practices of Academic Review Procedures (Polish title: Dobre praktyki w procedurach recenzyjnych w nauce), which may be accessed on the Ministry’s website.
- The manuscripts submitted to Insurance Review that have been initially approved by Editors are sent for a review by experts in a given field.
- Reviewed manuscripts are evaluated by two independent of authors reviewers ( i.e. not affiliated with the same institution as the author) in a double-blind review process, which means that both the other reviewer and author(s) identities are concealed from the reviewers, and vice versa.
- Each manuscript is reviewed by at least one third-party reviewer who is not a member of Insurance Review’s Programme Board or the Editorial Team.
- The reviewers assess the manuscript for its compliance with the criteria included in the review form. Based on this assessment, the reviewers decide on the further course of action:
- the manuscript is accepted for publication in the unaltered version,
- the manuscript is accepted for publication subject to the author(s) acceptance of changes and suggestions made by the reviewers,
- the manuscript is returned to the author(s) for a re-write and will be re-submitted for a review,
- the manuscript is rejected.
- If the reviewers express conflicting opinions on a manuscript, the Editorial Team appoints the third reviewer (also in compliance with the requirements of a double-blind review) who resolves how to proceed with the submission.
- Authors receive an anonymous written review.
- The list of reviewers is published annually after the notification of the last issue in a given year, on the Insurance Review’s website.
