In Q1 2015 Polish insurers paid life insurance compensations and benefits worth PLN 10.2 billion and non-life insurance compensations and benefits worth PLN 7.2 billion.
Interesting data after Q1 2015
- The total premium in the insurance market amounted to over PLN 28 billion (YoY increase by 1.34%)
- The total compensations and benefits paid amounted to PLN 17.4 billion (YoY increase by 1%)
- Compensations and benefits under civil liability insurance (OC) of land vehicles (including civil liability insurance of motor vehicle owners) amounted to PLN 3.3 billion (an increase by 14.6%)
Motor insurance market. Key figures:
- The gross written premium on civil liability insurance (OC) amounted to PLN 4 billion (a decrease by 1.4%)
- The gross written premium on comprehensive Auto Casco (AC) insurance amounted to PLN 2.7 billion (an increase by 1.7%)
- The technical loss on civil liability insurance (OC) amounted to PLN 327 million
- The technical loss on Auto Casco insurance (AC) amounted to PLN 27 million
Non-life market (exclusive of motor insurance). Key figures:
- The total premium on non-life insurance (exclusive of motor insurance) amounted to PLN 6.9 billion and was higher by 2.9% than a year before.
- Insurance against fire and other natural forces still have the biggest share in the premium on the non-life market (PLN 1.66 billion). However, it is a YoY decrease of this share by 2%.
Life insurance market. Key figures:
- The value of the premium on life insurance increased by 1.3% to PLN 14.4 billion
- The value of the premium on insurance with IEF increased to PLN 7 billion (by 15.6%)
Net financial result
The net profit of life insurers for the Q1 2015 amounted to PLN 1.7 billion and was by 7.4% higher than a year before. Non-life insurers ended Q1 2015 with the profit of PLN 1.8 billion (a decrease by 30.4%). The income tax due from Polish insurers for Q1 2015 amounted to PLN 424.7 million.
